"If we would have gotten all AF2 players we would have started fast, leveled off and would not have been playing our best football when it mattered. The group of guys we have assembled has endless potential and upside and because of their willingness to learn and work hard, we will be in a great position later in the season when it matters the most."

I'm a GB fan and I am not ashamed to admit to all of you that I have zero confidence in this team. 98% of the players were drafted straight out of college and have never played the 50 yard game before??? And Richards is saying that Green Bay will be Titletown again?!?! I once read a post by Malepig that called the IFL "anklebiters". I'm sorry, but Malepig is just plain wrong. To call the IFL anklebiters is an insult to anklebiters across the world.

The list is probably 26 training camp bodies and Rob Bironas lol

And yeah we have a lot to say, Richards called out the arena league when there was no point in him doing so. Why not just say, "I'm proud of the team we've assembled, we hope to bring a championship to GB blah blah blah" you know, the typical coach speak?

His quote admits that af2 players are better and that he suspects his team will get off to a slow start, but he hopes that they'll have it together by late in the season. It's obvious that this organization is worried the IFL experiment will blow up in their faces. Fans will not stick around to watch a sloppy team, especially when all the fan favorites are gone.

This would be the same Rob Bironas that got to the NFL by going through the AFL.

The most notable player Richards coached, to my knowledge, is kicker Rob Bironas when he was with the Charleston Swamp Foxes.

20 some players he coached now in the NFL? Name them, and tell me where he coached them.

a 61-28 coaching record...and 20 some players he coached now in the NFL, not too shabby if you ask me.. former players did try out and not make the team too (Love, Aldridge, etc..)

I can take it a step further. This is my take on the whole AFL/IFL controversy. I'm sure many of you on this forum are familiar with the movie "The Replacements" starring Keanu Reeves. For those who didn't see the movie, the premise is that the NFL goes on strike, but the owners hire unknowns as replacements to complete the season. In the end, the strike ends and the replacements drift off into obscurity. In this situation, however, the AFL are the pros and the IFL are the replacements, but instead of drifting off into obscurity where they belong, they decide to form their own league in a feeble attempt to compete with the "Major League". Therefore, to call them inferior is a gross understatement. Just my humble opinion.
