AFL Fan Zone

"If we would have gotten all AF2 players we would have started fast, leveled off and would not have been playing our best football when it mattered. The group of guys we have assembled has endless potential and upside and because of their willingness to learn and work hard, we will be in a great position later in the season when it matters the most."

Makes no sense? So what he is saying is that he wants crappy players who can learn how to play instead of good players who will stat consistant? Sounds like he has no confidence in his coaching ability.

Sure hope they don't lose so much in the beginning that they can't make the playoffs at the end...

Why is that comment even in the article?

He's just trying to make up some BS to explain why there is only one player from last year's team on the roster (OL LeRoy Auguste) and fans will no doubt be wondering why, especially since Royle said former players would come back.

Whatever. Go Iron.

You're exactly right. I'm sure many fans have asked why there are so few former Blizzard players on this years team. This was just a very clumsy and stupid statement.

a 61-28 coaching record...and 20 some players he coached now in the NFL, not too shabby if you ask me.. former players did try out and not make the team too (Love, Aldridge, etc..)

If Love tried out and didn't make it..this coach is a buffoon.

There is a huge difference between support for your team and becoming a sheep that will follow or defend anything your team says or does. All I have to say to you is STAY AWAY FROM ARKANSAS! BAHHHHH BAHHHHH

20 some players he coached now in the NFL? Name them, and tell me where he coached them.

The most notable player Richards coached, to my knowledge, is kicker Rob Bironas when he was with the Charleston Swamp Foxes.

This is a very carefully worded jab at the AFL by the Blizzard ownership and coaching staff without naming the AFL in general. BP is 100% right in her statement as well. It's sad that the team has to resort to this to try and cover themselves when/if this whole IFL thing blows up in their face.

he has coached 27 Players who went to the NFL in the last 6 years
